Christmas Bear MOJO Monday 476

Happy Wednesday! The past 24 hours have been filled with blogging difficulty. You see, one of the big detriments to living in the country is that we have, mediocre internet. And, unfortunately the last 24 hours of attempting to "blog ahead" before I left for vacation have proved to be futile.

Currently, I'm sitting at O'Hare National Airport at the United Club soaking up all of their "free" internet I can before I take flight :) I wanted to post this card yesterday when I finished it, but alas, country internet had other plans. Que sera sera! LOL

Without further ado, today's card was inspired by this week's MOJO Monday sketch. It's a 5"x5" square card. I'm so use to doing A2 cards, it was fun to change it up.
I started with a 5"x10" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock scored at 5".  I layered it with 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" Chocolate Chip cardstock and a piece of 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the bear from the Baby Bear Stamp Set onto a 3 1/4"x 3 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks and made him a hat using the Jolly Hat Builder Punch with Red Glimmer Paper and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I layered him onto a piece of 3 3/8"x 3 3/8" Real Red cardstock then layered that onto a piece of 3 3/4"x 3 3/4" Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The sentiment from Reason for the Season was stamped in Real Red and cut out along with another piece of Crumb Cake with our Layering Circle Framelits. I sponged the edges of the sentiment in Early Espresso before adhering it to the base with Stampin' Dimensionals

I layered the inside in Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Whisper White as well. The finishing touch is a candy cane from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set on both the inside of the card and the envelope.

Since this card is square, I had to make an envelope using my Envelope Punch Board
It's so nice to be able to make an envelope the exact size you need it :)

I had fun playing along with the MOJO Monday Sketch. Please click on the sketch to see other submissions.

Twinkle Tree Gift Card Holder Card

Happy Cyber Monday! I hope you all had a marvelous holiday weekend filled with fun, family, food and lots of wonderful memories. :) We had a great weekend. It certainly went by quickly!

This is the last card from our class a couple of weeks ago. It's a gift card holder :)
I started with a base of Garden Green cardstock and layered it with Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Hostess Time of Year stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The tree  & coffee cup are stamped from the Twinkle Trees stamp set

I used my 3/4" circle punch to cut the thumb piece out of the gift card area & to punch out the coffee cup.  The coffee cup is inked with Stampin' Write Markers and is raised on dimensionals to act as the closure for the card.
Everyone needs a gift card holder this time of year, right?
I hope you enjoyed today's card.

Swap card

I made this card for a swap with my fellow Stray Ducklings (a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators in the area.) I must say, I'm very happy with the result :) The theme of the swap was Washi tape. The red strip at the top under the gold bakers twine (part of the Baker's Twine Trio Pack) is washi tape from the Warmth & Cheer Washi pack

Every Christmas season, I like to make at least one card that uses a tea light. There's just something festive about that for me. This is just a simple tent card in Old Olive cardstock. I stamped the trees with the Peaceful Pines stamp set then cut all of them out using the Perfect Pines Framelits Dies.

I stamped the Seasons Greetings like it was hanging from the Washi tap.

Both sentiments are from the  Seasonal Bells Stamp Set
The center tree is made using shipping tape and Dazzling Diamonds then backing both with Vellum

And here it is all lit up. :)

I really enjoyed making these cards for our swap. I sincerely hope the recipients enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them :)

Teddy Bear Gift Bag

This gift bag was offered at the Stray Ducklings Peoria Stamp Fair. I saw it at my fellow duckling's (Debbie Kramer's) card class and just knew I wanted to offer it in my Christmas Card Class. It's cute and simple and whips together quickly. I just know that the recipient of Christmas gifts in this bag are going to love it this year!

I started with a plain white craft bag from Walmart. I added a piece of DSP from the Candy Cane Lane designer series pack, a strip of Real Red Cardstock that I snipped the ends off to form a banner, a delicate white doilies and a circle of the Candy Cane Lane DSP again. The bear was stamped in Chocolate Chip , punched out with the Cookie Cutter punch and adhered to the DSP decorated doily with our Stampin' Dimensionals. The finishing touch was the beary sentiment from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set punch out with the Duet Banner Punch and the Real Red Stitched Ribbon.

Et Viola! Super simple, but totally cute! :)

Penguin Fun Fold

Hello crafters. Sorry I'm late posting today. Hubby had minor surgery so we've been a little busy around here today. He's doing very well which allowed me to get back at it :)

The card I'm sharing today is my favorite from the class I had last week. I love fun fold cards and this one is no exception. That adorable penguin just makes my heart all warm and fuzzy <3 The card design is CASEd from my fellow Stray Duckling (a Stampin' Up! demo group in my area), Darlene Anstett. She made a cute  Gingerbread card for a swap. I loved hers so much, I knew the moment I saw it I was going to do something in the future with her idea :)

The cute penguin, sentiment & snow flakes are from the Snow Place stamp set. The penguin is cut out with the Snow Friends Framelit Dies. I embossed panels of Soft Sky with the Softly Falling embossing folder and highlighted them by sponging the dots lightly with our Whisper White Craft Ink. The belly band and back panel are in Basic Black.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it :)

Stampin' Up! has a wonderful Black Friday week of sales going on next week. Please check back soon as I'll be posting the details.

Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmoose!

As I sit here typing this blogpost that will go live in the morning, my toothless, old, cataract-ridden Rat Terrier, Buster, just chased a possum off the porch! My heart did flip flops trying to catch up with him in the dark and make sure he didn't get himself hurt (or rabies!) Turns out Mr. Possum stopped next to the house & Buster kept going! All's well that ends well. Buster returned and the possum missed looking down the end of a 12-gauge since hubby couldn't find him when he went back out.

Now that that drama is over, onto our next card :)

Merry Christmoose!

This is the 2nd card from last weeks class. I started with a base of Real Red cardstock and layered it with Candy Cane Lane DSP. I stamped "merry" with the Layered Letters Alphabet stamps. "Christmoose" was stamped using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  The moose was stamped from the Jolly Friends stamp set on Sahara Sand and Crumb Cake & fussy cut out. We cut the antlers off the Crumb cake, cut the Sahara Sand moose off underneath the eyes and adhered it to the back of the crumb cake piece so the antlers would be lighter than the head.

The hat pieces were punched with the Jolly hat builder punch in Real Red and Whisper White. We added Mica flakes on the hat brim with tombow glue and added the mini jingle bell at the tip with mini glue dots.

The finishing touch was the Candy Cane Lane baker's twine and the sentiment inside from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set.
I just love this moose :)

If you'd like to buy any of the items to make this card, I'd love to help you out. :)

Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!

New Stitched Framelits/Mojo Monday

Stampin' Up! released their new Stitched Framelits - just for November. After November 30th you won't be able to order them again until June of 2017.

I used them on this Mojo Monday card and can I just tell you, I LOVE THEM!!!  I'm so happy that I purchased them on release day!

We have a friend who had a hip replacement yesterday and I wanted to make him the perfect card. After seeing the Mojo Monday 474 sketch come up in my email, I decided to kill 3 birds with one stone - Make our friend a personalized card, be able to link it to the Mojo Monday 474 sketch AND use our beautiful new framelits.

That's what I call a Win! Win! Win! :) And what's better than one card? Why, two of course! ;)

The cone-headed dog is CASEd from Tami White. I punched him out with the Fox Builder punch in Soft Suede and Chocolate Chip.  The card bases are in Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim. The DSP is Moroccan - isn't it awesome?! The sentiment is from the Here For You stamp set. The ruched ribbon is in Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim. The dog collar is vellum punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.

Here's the Mojo Monday sketch I used:

I hope you enjoyed today's card. That little dog just makes me giggle :) See ya tomorrow with the second card from last week's card class.

Till then, Happy Stamping!

If you need any of the supplies listed here, I'd be happy to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Please contact me!

Gingerbread Cookie

Looky here, we have a cute Gingerbread Man fresh out of the oven. Why, he's still cooling on the cookie sheet! I just love this Cookie Cutter Christmas set!

The card base is Crumb Cake. It's layered with Real Red and Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). The cookie sheet was made with our Foil Sheets and scored with the Stampin' Trimmer. The 'Tis the Season sentiment is from the Peaceful Pines Stamp Set. The gingerbread man is stamped and punched from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Bundle.
The peppermints are stamped from the Candy Cane Lane Christmas stamp set.

This is the first card from my Stamp-A-Stack class last week. I'll be sharing others in the days to come. Do you live in Central Illinois? If so, I'd love to have you join us for a class. We have tons of fun :)

Thanksgiving Blessings

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I wanted to share a card that I made per request from a friend. She wanted a Thanksgiving card "with no turkeys" LOL! Knowing what a good christian woman she is, I opted to order the Paisleys & Posies stamp set specifically so I could have the sentiment on the card for her. Then I remembered a beautiful card that one of my fellow Stray Ducklings blessed us with in a swap. I took the swap idea and ran with it, adding completely different colors, more layers and our beautiful copper foil sheets. I am over-the-top happy with this card. I hope you like it too!

The card base is Crumb Cake. The layers are Cajun Craze, Copper Foil & Very Vanilla. The sentiments are stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock in Soft Suede and the flowers are a mix of Soft Suede and Cajun Craze.

I decided that my friend deserved a pretty package to hold the cards she ordered, so I dug through my retired cardstock and found this adorable autumn-themed DSP. I just love the little acorns! I did a little scoring and cut an opening on a piece of Whisper White with our Classic Label Punch and et Viola! Card Hanger! I wrote a thank you message to my friend inside the hanging card and now her order of Thanksgiving cards to mail out to her friends is ready to be delivered. :)

I'm looking forward to a great Thanksgiving. I'd love to hear your plans. :)

If you don't have a Stampin' Up! demo and would like to order some of these products, I'd be happy to help you.

Happy "No turkey card" day ;)
