Father's Day

Happy Saturday! 

As I type this, I'm prepping to go to an annual card-making gala with my Stray Ducklings Stampin' Up! group. I'm super excited! I love all time I get to spend with them! It should be great fun! 😀

 Today I am sharing the card I made for Dad for Father's Day. He received it yesterday so I'm not worried about ruining his surprise, LOL! This card came together very quickly. I knew from the moment I saw the Another Wonderful Year stamp set that I would center his card around the "Best Dad Ever" sentiment. The willowy stems and inside sentiment are from the Country Road stamp set - perfect for a manly card. The scrolls around the sentiment are out of the Around the Corner stamp set. I think they add a nice touch to dress up the sentiment without being overbearing. Don't you agree?

The card design is from a recent card that my Upline, Linda Bauwin, made. Quick, simple and easy to do! 

Alrighty my crafty friends, I'm off like a herd of turtles. LOL!

Stray Ducklings New Catty Blog Waddle

Welcome to our Stray Ducklings Monthly Blog Waddle!

Our theme this month was to use something from the new catalog. I chose to use the cute critters from the Animal Outing bundle. 
It's a Wiper card. See the video below. The cute giraffe pops up when you open it. :) 

I colored the animal with water color pencils. 
The sentiment was stamped on the small white label from the Share What You Love embellishment kit. 

I put a panel on the back for a greeting and used our new corner punch to decorate it. 

Isn't it cute and fun?

Painted Glass Sympathy Card

Today's the day! Whoop! Whoop! At 1pm, we will be able to order from the new catalog! Can't wait!

Here is another card made from a set I was able to pre-order, Painted Glass. 

Isn't it beautiful?! I have to admit, I'm not much of a colorer. *gasp!*

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to color! It brings out the kid inside. However, I usually won't make the time to color. And, when I color I prefer to heat emboss the stamped image before I do. 

Enter, pre-embossed vellum!!! Stampin' Up! solved the problem for me! Now I can pull out my 6x6 Graceful Glass designer vellum sheets and color as I see fit (maybe on the new lap desk I bought while watching TV at night with hubby?) This could seriously change my card making! 

It's quick & elegant and...

I LOVE IT!
