Fun Fold Card

I got today's card in a swap over the weekend. It was made by Lori Helvick (http://createwithlori2.blogspot.com/ )

Look at how fun this is! This is the front:

Then you fold the decorated flap back and viola! An ice cream cone! :)

Lori used the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (which is on sale right now!!!)  when she designed her card.
And this is what it looks like totally opened. How cute is that?!

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

Blooms & Bliss card share

Happy Thursday!
I received this card in a swap on Saturday as well. It was made by a fellow demonstrator, Laura Roethle. Isn't it pretty?

Laura also used the stitched circle framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits. Those are a must have in any stampers tools IMHO.

I hope you enjoyed today's card share. :)

Hero Card

I have a quick & simple card for you today.
I made these for our local law enforcement agencies. Hubby asked what I did that made me have to suck up, LOL! Honestly, it was an idea that one of my fellow Stampin' Up! demos had. I liked it so much that I had to do it too. I think our law enforcement personnel are often under-appreciated and I wanted to share some positive vibes with them.
I hope it brightened their day a bit :)

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock. I used the Regals DSP stack, Silver Glimmer Paper and the My Hero & Timeless Textures to complete the card & envelope. The Hero sentiment was punched out using our Best Badge punch

And that's it! Easy-Peasy card :)

I hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday!

Happy Stamping!

Diarama Card

Welcome to another week! Today is the last card from our technique swap. It was designed by Sue Boerner ( http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/stampinsueb/blog ) . It's a diarama card made from the Balloon Adventures bundle. This technique makes a shadow box type of image. So cool! Sue used the Festive Birthday DSP. This DSP is retiring soon so get it while you can!

And I love this diarama card so much, I had to embellish the inside by coloring the balloons and the banner, but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Stained Glass Technique

Hello Weekend! 😁

Today I get to meet with my stampin' sisters, the Stray Ducklings. I just love my time with these women. They are inspirational, caring, supportive and of course they share my love of paper crafting!

Speaking of which, I have two cards today compliments of those gals. Both cards use the same technique - Stained Glass.

The first card was made by me but designed by Mary Heinzman ( http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/marycarolscards/ ) Mary used the Playful Backgrounds stamp set. She stamped them on Vellum using Versamark Ink then heat embossed them with our Silver Embossing Powder. She used her Regals Stampin' Write Markers to color in the backside of her embossed image. Viola! Stained Glass! I just love this card! It's so bright & cheery!

The second card was made by me but designed by Bonnie Alexander ( http://aliveandstamping.blogspot.com/ ). Bonnie used the recently retired and sold-out Stylish Stems thinlets die and the Petal Burst embossing folder for her card. We attached a piece of Vellum on the back of the cutout and sponged Sweet Sugarplum on it to get this effect. Soft, subtle and elegant all at the same time!

The finishing touches are the sentiment from the Special Reason stamp set & the Sweet Sugarplum ribbon (Hurry! They're on sale, while supplies last!

I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your weekend being creative.
Happy Stamping!

Label Technique

Woohoo! It's Friday! I hope you have a weekend full of fun adventures planned.

Right now, my wonderful nephew, Sam, & I are enjoying Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin. We drove to Janesville last night and spent the night so we could be closer to all the excitement (and get there early) today. Sam is my partner-in-crime with all things horse related. I'm so blessed to have him to share my horse-crazy passion! I'm looking forward to a Summer full of adventure with him, Sunny & Cisco. This is his first horse fair experience and I'm excited to be seeing it all through his eyes. 🐴

Now, onto our card. Today's card was designed by Miss Linda Pohl. Linda is my close friend and the one who introduced me to cardmaking (I started off as a scrapbooker with no interest in making cards! 😲😲) And now she's created a monster! I can't get enough of paper crafting!

Linda stamped the images above onto four mailing labels using the Sheltering Tree stamp set. She then stuck each label taking care to keep them evenly spaced on a Basic Black card.

Isn't that a cool effect? Easy peasy, right?!

Avant Garden

Happy Throwback Thursday!

I don't normally show cards that utilize retired product, but I just love this card and the colors we used. This card was CASEd from Debbie Kramer who CASEd it from someone else. I believe it's made it's way throughout Pinterest. Anyhow, I changed the colors to some of my faves.

The flower and sentiment were stamped using Avant Garden and the lace was stamped using Delicate Details - both from our recent Sale-A-Bration.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is the current Neutrals Stack which is retiring in a few weeks. Get it now before it's gone, gone, gone!

If you are looking for retired products please contact me. I might just have it and be willing to sell it. 😉
I hope you enjoyed today's card. Please come back tomorrow for a new current card.

Happy Stamping!

Bokeh Technique

Someone call the doctor! I'm seeing spots!

Good morning my crafty friends! We had a great day of stamping in class yesterday. There will be pics to follow, but today I'd like to show you another card from our technique shoebox swap. I made this card but it was designed by Debbie Kramer ( http://debbiekramer.blogspot.com/

This is the Bokeh technique. It was done by punching 3 different sized circles out of a piece of Vellum Cardstock and blotting White Craft Ink through the vellum mask randomly on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that we had sponged. Isn't it cool?!

The sentiment is from the Love Sparkles Stamp Set. Rhinestones were added for extra sparkle. I just love this technique. It's fun to do. There's no right or wrong way to do it, you just sponge away with your sponge daubers

Won't you try it today?

Stay tuned for tomorrow. I'm having a Throwback Thursday.

Happy Stamping!

Paper Piecing Technique

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today is class day here at Kim's Kreative Korner. I'm looking forward to having a houseful of beautiful stamping friends to share my day. :)

Today's card was designed by Sheilla Lucas and made by me at a recent shoebox swap. Sheilla showed us a great way to use up scrap pieces of cardstock with our diecuts. You simply stick all the pieces side-by-side and cut them out using thinlit. On this card, we used the beautiful Detailed Dragonfly thinlits and the Petal Burst embossing folder. I left a sentiment off on purpose that way I can make it whatever I need it to be when the time comes to use it.

And that's it for this quick and simple Tuesday card. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!

Creative Fold Smash Card

I hope you all had a marvelous Easter spent with loved ones. Hubby and I had a great weekend spent with a family who has adopted us. The weather here was divine on Saturday. My horses got some much needed grooming and a little horseplay. I'm anxious to start riding and camping!

For your Monday viewing pleasure, I have chosen this smash card designed by Mary Booker
( http://stamphappycreates.typepad.com/ ), but made by yours truly at a recent shoebox swap. I love it! It's so festive and fun :) I'm sure whoever receives it will love the surprise when they open it.

The stamps Mary chose are from the Balloon Adventures set. The balloons were punched out of Dazzling Diamond and Red Glimmer Paper using the Balloon punch

Isn't it great?!

Are you interested in making fun cards like this one? I'd love to have you join me in class to learn how to do this on your own. If you're not in the North Central Illinois area, but still need a demonstrator to guide you with card making or scrapbooking using Stampin' Up! products, I'd love to help you out! Please don't hesitate to contact me.

Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!

March Paper Pumpkin Alternate Project

In light of Easter being tomorrow, I'd like to share a project I created using last month's Paper Pumpkin kit. What is Paper Pumpkin, you might ask? It's a box full of crafting fun delivered to your mailbox every month for only $19.95 per month. It has everything you need to create the project. This particular one had 9 cards and 9 treat bags (not shown) included! That's a lot of bang for your buck and you don't even have to get out of your pjs! 😉😜

The cards and envelopes were only 3"x3". I wanted to make full-size A2 cards, so I glued the card and envelope onto a 4¼" x 5½" piece of cardstock with a 4" x 5¼" layer of Playful Palette Designer Series Paper on it (which is on sale right now! 😃) And viola! A2 card with a fun bunny card to slide out.

Would you like to give Paper Pumpkin a try? Here's a link for more details:

Masking Technique

I made this card for our Technique Swap at the Stray Ducklings meeting. My technique was masking. I stamped the lighthouse from the High Tide Stamp Set then masked it with a post-it note so I could sponge the sky behind it.

Quick & simple today. I hope you all have a marvelous weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Watercolor Wash Technique

This is another card that was part of our Shoebox Technique swap. It's a Watercolor Wash card designed by Laura Roethle. You spray your watercolor paper before stamping it. For more definition, you can stamp the image a second time after the water has almost dried.

I just love all the bright happy colors Laura used on this card!

Smash Card

Today's card share was designed by Gayle Kiesow of our Stray Ducklings group.
It's a smash card - something new for me that I've never tried.
It's all about the scoring of the fold then using a belly band to keep it closed.

I'm always learning new things in crafting - especially from my Stray Duckling's sisters.  We continually grow by having meetings, swapping with one another and teaching each other new paper crafting ideas. If you're a Stampin' Up! demo in Central Illinois and would like to join us, we'd love to have you! If you're not a demo but would like more info on how you can save 20-25% and have lots of fun with a great group of people, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Bleaching Technique

Happy Tuesday :)

Today's card was designed by our own Mama Duck (aka Lori Helvick) from our Central Illinois Stray Ducklings group. Lori used the Remarkable You stamp set on this card. This set never ceases to amaze me. It's so simple and so elegant. The flower was embossed using our Silver Embossing Powder then bleached was dabbed inside the petals.
Cool effect, eh?

You can visit Lori's blog HERE to show her some love for designing this beautiful card :)

Faux Ceramic Tile Technique

Today's Card was designed by fellow Stray Duckling, Kelly Irish.
I wish you could see this in person. It's so shiny and cool!
The picture does not do it justice.

You start by scoring the panel you are going to ink. Then, ink your image.
Versamark the whole panel and heat emboss it with clear. Repeat.

The first layer will be bumpy and inconsistent. The second layer smooths out and looks like tile. So cool and not too difficult!

Easter Message

I was hired to make 20 cards for a great friend who is very supportive of my stamping business. She is a wonderful Christian woman and I couldn't wait to design this card for her!

I started with a base of Wisteria Wonder. I stamped the sun from Kinda Eclectic on Whisper White Cardstock, then heat embossed the Easter Message image by inking it in Early Espresso and using clear embossing powder. I colored the image with our Many Marvelous Markers.

I hope you enjoyed today's card.

Happy Stamping!!!

Custom Tee

We made this simple card at my last class. I designed it using the Custom Tee bundle and the now retired Carried away DSP.  The girls had fun tie dying the shirt. I had fun hanging it on the line to dry ;)

This is such a versatile stamp set with so many sayings.
It's a fun one to have on hand!

Calendar of Cards November & December plus bonus card

Well, hello again :)
I took off and met my husband down South for the weekend. We had a fabulous time, but now it's time to get back to posting.

Today I'm sharing the last two cards from our Calendar of Cards day. This beautiful card was designed by fellow Stray Duckling, Lynn Brinker. Lynn used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set and the Leaflits Framelit Dies. Lynn embellished the card with Gold Satin Ribbon. Isn't it beautiful?

Our December card was designed by Bonnie Alexander at http://aliveandstamping.blogspot.com
Bonnie used Santa's Sleigh & Hang Your Stocking stamp sets. She also used This Christmas DSP and the finishing touch is the bow she made with the 1/4" Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon.

The bonus card I want to share today was made by Sheryl Diemer from http://stampingclassroom.blogspot.com Sheryl used the Reverse Words (Now retired) Sale-A-Bration stamp set.
