Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle - Retiring Products

Welcome to our Stray Ducklings Monthly Blog Waddle!
You may have gotten here from Lori Helvick's  blog or you're starting here. Either way, we're glad to have you join us!
For the month of May, we are focusing on retiring products.
I would like to showcase this cute little castle I cased from Patty Bennett HERE
I added a turret to my castle.  I just LOVE it!
The castle features many retiring items. First & foremost, the Magical Day bundle.

The flag and stamped images on it are from the Birthday Delivery bundle.
I colored the knight with Stampin' Blends (available in the new catalog) and added some Wink of Stella to him.
I did the same with the dragon.

The door was made using Oval Layering Framelits (not retiring) & the Sliding Door framelits (Bundle price is retiring but you'll still be able to buy them separately, so if you're interested, buy the bundle BEFORE May 31st)

Isn't it cute???!!!

Now, on with the blog waddle!
Next in line is Nancy Legate

In case you get lost during the waddle, here's our complete list of Waddlers:

Dragonfly Dreams meets Definitely Dahlia

Welcome to Terrific Tuesday! :)
I trust you all made it through Monday and are on the countdown to the weekend.

Today, I'd like to share my favorite card from our last class. I've been wanting to die cut those dragonflies from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies in the Silver Glimmer Paper for a long time and I finally got to it! Aren't they beautiful against that Perfect Plum cardstock?!

The Definitely Dahlia flower stamp makes a bold statement inside the card and the So Saffron was the perfect color to make the card pop IMHO.

I had trouble figuring out how I wanted to accent the card. I ended up popping some dots out of the glimmer paper with my 1/8" punch and adding some Clear Wink of Stella to the flower. I hope you can see the shimmer in the bottom picture. It's so pretty! :)

That's it for now. We're having some BEAUTIFUL weather here in Illinois today. I think I'm gonna take advantage of it and find a pony or two to antagonize ride. 😄
We have to ride we can around these parts otherwise if you wait 5 minutes, the weather changes!

Tomorrow, I will start sharing the cards we made at our Basket Swap on Saturday. Wait till you see the beautiful cards these talented ladies designed!

Until then, Happy Stamping!

Calendar of Cards November & December plus bonus card

Well, hello again :)
I took off and met my husband down South for the weekend. We had a fabulous time, but now it's time to get back to posting.

Today I'm sharing the last two cards from our Calendar of Cards day. This beautiful card was designed by fellow Stray Duckling, Lynn Brinker. Lynn used the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set and the Leaflits Framelit Dies. Lynn embellished the card with Gold Satin Ribbon. Isn't it beautiful?

Our December card was designed by Bonnie Alexander at http://aliveandstamping.blogspot.com
Bonnie used Santa's Sleigh & Hang Your Stocking stamp sets. She also used This Christmas DSP and the finishing touch is the bow she made with the 1/4" Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon.

The bonus card I want to share today was made by Sheryl Diemer from http://stampingclassroom.blogspot.com Sheryl used the Reverse Words (Now retired) Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

Twist & Pop-Up Card

Pop and Twist - Sounds like a dance or something, doesn't it? LOL! Nope, it's today's Creative Fold card 😀I've been wanting to try one of these for a while now so I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here

I used our Glamper Greetings Stamp Set for the front.

Being one who loves to camp with her horses & dogs, I REALLY, REALLY like this set 😉 I masked the camper by stamping it on a post-it note and covering the glamper on the card. That enabled me to use our new Sponge Brayers for the ground and sky. I also used our 1 ½" circle punch to make a moon mask as well. It doesn't get much easier than applying it with the brayers, and the ink stays even!

Annnnnd now, my favorite part of this card. I love how it pops open into a storybook type surprise.
I've been wanting to use the new Bookcase Builder Stamp Set. My thought process was to make this mimick little rooms inside the camper. It is so fun once it all comes together!
The base of the card is Sahara Sand and the DSP is our Moroccan Designer Series Paper. I love how it makes each "room" look like it has it's own wallpaper yet they all go together very well .

And, last, but not least, I had to add some shimmer with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to the outside of the camper on the front of the card and the envelope. I wanted it to look like an Airstream, LOL!

And that's it for today's dance, errrrr Pop & Twist card. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Fairy Celebration meets Jar of Love

I saw this fairy in a jar idea on Pinterest here made by Elizabeth Green of stampscrapandmore.com and just knew I had to make my own version of it. I love the Jar of Love bundle and anything I can fit inside that little jar to turn it into a shaker card! :)  Add a little fairy with sparkly wings and hey, I'm all about that!

The base is just Whisper White CS. The DSP is from the Blooms & Bliss DSP Pack. The fairy, twinkle & sentiment are all from the Fairy Celebration stamp set. I stamped the fairy twice and punched the wings out with the Bitty Butterfly punch. I added some clear Wink of Stella to make the wings shimmer. The ribbon is the Silver 1/8" Ribbon

I just love the way this card turned out. I hope you like it too.

Happy Stamping :)
