Christmas Bear MOJO Monday 476

Happy Wednesday! The past 24 hours have been filled with blogging difficulty. You see, one of the big detriments to living in the country is that we have, mediocre internet. And, unfortunately the last 24 hours of attempting to "blog ahead" before I left for vacation have proved to be futile.

Currently, I'm sitting at O'Hare National Airport at the United Club soaking up all of their "free" internet I can before I take flight :) I wanted to post this card yesterday when I finished it, but alas, country internet had other plans. Que sera sera! LOL

Without further ado, today's card was inspired by this week's MOJO Monday sketch. It's a 5"x5" square card. I'm so use to doing A2 cards, it was fun to change it up.
I started with a 5"x10" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock scored at 5".  I layered it with 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" Chocolate Chip cardstock and a piece of 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.

I stamped the bear from the Baby Bear Stamp Set onto a 3 1/4"x 3 1/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks and made him a hat using the Jolly Hat Builder Punch with Red Glimmer Paper and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I layered him onto a piece of 3 3/8"x 3 3/8" Real Red cardstock then layered that onto a piece of 3 3/4"x 3 3/4" Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The sentiment from Reason for the Season was stamped in Real Red and cut out along with another piece of Crumb Cake with our Layering Circle Framelits. I sponged the edges of the sentiment in Early Espresso before adhering it to the base with Stampin' Dimensionals

I layered the inside in Chocolate Chip, Real Red and Whisper White as well. The finishing touch is a candy cane from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set on both the inside of the card and the envelope.

Since this card is square, I had to make an envelope using my Envelope Punch Board
It's so nice to be able to make an envelope the exact size you need it :)

I had fun playing along with the MOJO Monday Sketch. Please click on the sketch to see other submissions.

Baby Bear Card Swap

Good morning everyone! The weather here in Illinois is gorgeous today! The humidity finally dropped and I think the day might just call for a pony ride :) But first, I'd like to share the card that I made for our Stray Ducklings basket swap a couple of weeks ago. The theme was "Black & White with a Pop of Color." Now, I don't know about you, but I just can't get enough of this baby bear stamp! It's everything I hoped it would be when I first saw it in the new catalog.

I used Whisper White cardstock for the base, basic black cs for the 1st layer, whisper white for the 2nd layer & stamped the lace image from Grateful Bunch in Smoky Slate. I also stamped this image inside the card on the right edge. The sentiment is from the Suite Sayings stamp set

I stamp my Baby Bears backwards:
First, I stamped the #3 bear (the most detailed one) in black Memento Ink
Second, I stamped the #2 bear in full strength Smoky Slate Ink
Third, I stamped the #1 bear in Stamped off Smoky Slate Ink

I cut the bear out with my Layering Squares Framelit Dies & cut a panel of Sweet Sugarplum to place behind it. I tied a fork bow using a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon and glued it to the bear. I cut a Delicate Doily in quarters to place behind the frame but added a small square of black cs to make it pop.

Well, that's it for today. I'm off to enjoy this beautiful weather while we still have it. You know it is the Midwest; our weather changes in 5 minute increments ;)

Baby Bear Step Card

I entered a Product Challenge with my Upline, Linda Bauwin. She sends us several current items to use to make a card. We send that card back to her to be judged. Her team judges the cards and the winner wins all of the cards that were entered. I had the honor of being a winner this month! :) The items she sent this month included some of the new In-Color Enamel Shapes, delicate white doilies and bow paper clip embellishments.

I'm in love with the new Baby Bear stamp set so I couldn't wait to use it in the Product Challenge. The idea was CASEd from images I found online. There are a lot of step cards made into dressers out there! I wanted to make the drawers look real so I scored them and raised them with 2 Stampin' Dimensionals on each side underneath of the drawers. The base of the card is done in Very Vanilla cardstock. The drawers are Soft Suede cardstock. The doilies are sponged with Soft Suede ink and one is backed with a circle cut from the new Layering Circle Framelit Dies and backed with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. The bow is wrapped in Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies to cut out the base of the dresser. The sentiment is from Suite Sayings and cut out with the Layering Squares Framelits Dies using Peek-A-Boo Peach cardstock as the background.

I stamped my bear backwards. I started using the #3 image with Tip Top Taupe. Then I stamped the #2 image over the top with full-strength Sahara Sand. Lastly, I used Sahara Sand ink again, but I stamped it off on scrap paper before stamping the #1 image over the top of the other two. I feel that you can see through the #1 image best, which makes it easy to line up. This bear is so life-like! You just wanna pick it up and give it a squeeze!

I hope you enjoy today's card. I would love to hear from you so that I know someone out there is reading my posts ;)
